Where there is darkness, we bring light.

Operation: NightLight is an organization that seeks to provide a safe place for Alaska Native Shareholders and others who are homeless or displaced in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, and to bring awareness to the ongoing problems caused by Alaska Native Shareholder homelessness in Alaska.

Our Project

Our main project is to establish a heated shelter in South Fairbanks, Alaska, that provides a safe, secure place from the hours of 12AM to 6AM for Alaskan Native Shareholders and others experiencing homelessness. This project is currently under construction. We are seeking a location to lease and donations of funds and equipment, As well as actively writing letters to Alaska Native corporations to request their support in our efforts.

Our Focus

We are focused on seeking funds from Alaska Native corporations to provide life-saving services to these corporation’s shareholders, the Native population. Through this, we hope to tap into funding designated for the economic and social needs of Natives (as per the Alaska Native Claims Settlement act of 1971) and use it for direct action in our communities, such as our nightly shelter, and safety app

Our History

This operation began when our founder, after experiencing homelessness as an Alaska Native, and after recovering from addiction, sought to use his success to reach out to others like himself. With direct knowledge of the needs of homeless people, and experience working with Native corporations, he created Operation: NightLight to fill a gap in services for the homeless, a gap that can be potentially deadly for many.

CORPORATIONS
We are asking Alaska Native corporations to donate to us so that the purpose of their corporations may be fulfilled, and their shareholders, Native Alaskans, may benefit from the system that was set up to provide for them.

SHAREHOLDERS
If you have equipment, money, or time that you would like to donate, please contact us, and if you are a shareholder of an Alaskan Native corporation, please consider contacting your representatives to advocate for using their profits to directly benefit Native Alaskans at their most vulnerable.
